  • 6 cups Chicken broth
  • 2 cups Cooked chicken, cut up
  • 1 cup Salsa verde or green chili enchilada sauce (choose mild, medium or hot!)
  • 1 cup Shredded Monterey Jack/cheddar cheese
  • ½ cup Sour cream, optional

  1. In a 3 to 4-quart pot, bring 6 cups chicken broth to a simmer.
  2. Reduce heat and add contents of Arizona Sunset Enchilada Soup Mix, 1 cup salsa verde (or green chili enchilada sauce), and chicken.
  3. Return to a simmer, cover and cook for 25 minutes. Remove from heat.
  4. Add shredded cheese and serve with a lime wedge garnish. Or, for a creamier version, stir in sour cream and enjoy.

When reheating this soup, keep temperature low to avoid cheese sticking to the soup pot.

    All Time Favorites

This time we made it with plain pulled pork. It was delicious. I was two cups short on the broth so I threw in a can of chunky vegetable soup. Still delicious no matter how I have to improvise.

    Tasty

Posted by L from PNW on May 5th 2024

We found this to be tasty, but the heat profile was a little too high for our tastes. I don’t know if it was the salsa we chose, or the mix itself.. I wish there was a heat indicator like on the Montana chili mix. That one is perfect for us when leaving out the whole chili. **Frontier Soups Reply** Hi! The salsa was the likely culprit. Any soup without a "heat indicator" pepper has little-to-no heat in the mix. Glad you still enjoyed!

    SOOOO GOOD

Posted by Sunny Lee on Apr 1st 2024

Absolutely delicious. I have started using low sodium chicken broth in all the Frontier soup recipes and the final product is just as good. this soup had amazing flavors that would have taken me hours to shop/prep/cook to creaate. Can't believe it took so long for me to found this company. I have now tried 5 soups. Love them all!

Just an absolute favorite! A ton of flavor, and good anytime. Always have it in the pantry and have recommended to everyone we know. Our local grocery stores carry, along with taco soup, so it’s easy for a first try.
