Minnesota Heartland Eleven Bean Soup is a colorful mix of beans, peas, and lentils. It's also the first soup recipe we created, all the way back in 1983.  Combined with kielbasa sausage and chicken, this long-simmering soup is worth the wait!

  • 1 tsp Garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 2 cups Chicken breast pieces, raw or cooked
  • 1 Package smoked Kielbasa sausage (14-16 oz.)

  3. Bring to a simmer, cover and cook on low for 3 hours.

  2. Cut up chicken and add to soup pot.
  3. Slice kielbasa sausage lengthwise into quarters. Slice crosswise to make little wedges. Add sausage to soup pot.
  4. Return pot to a simmer, cover and cook for 30 minutes.

Found the packet on the shelves of Major Market in Fallbrook, CA. We are vegan, so I prepared the soup without the meats. Great soup, flavorful and fat free. Suggest adding marketing text about the terrific flavor without meat!

    Hearty and healthy!

I’ve had this soup twice, and I think it will always be my favorite. I love how the flavor of the broth comes from the ham hocks, and you can make the soup as meaty as you want. This little bag makes a LOT of soup, perfect to make as meal prep for the week, or make for one dinner and freeze. You must try it!

We made the base of soup from a ham bone and chicken bone broth. Had plenty of ham, added fresh ham, bay leaf and fresh sweet basil. Added fresh from vine tomatoes and organic carrots. Absolutely delicious, ate in 97 degree temps!
