great when in a time crunch

Posted by Caryn on Mar 15th 2026

I was gifted this mix. It was easy and quick. It says it serves 6 but that would be small bowls. If serving for dinner, it would only serve 2 people. One issue i had was the liquid called for was not enough. I had to add significantly more broth.

    Questioning the liquid amount?

Posted by Thea on Mar 14th 2026

This soup mix calls for only 1.5 cups of liquid. I ended up adding probably 4 times that amount. I'm not sure if that's a typo on your packaging or if that is supposed to be the correct amount, but it would have been more like a sloppy joe consistency without the added liquid. I think the serving size would have been considerably less as well. It tastes pretty good with the added liquid, though needed salt and toppings. ***ANDERSON HOUSE REPLY***Hi Thea, the amount is not a typo! This is a chili not a soup :) and the consistency should be pretty close to sloppy joe. We don't add any salt to our products on purpose, which allows our customers to season as they prefer. Glad you still sort of enjoyed ;)

    Perfect!

Posted by L from PNW on May 5th 2024

This is currently our favorite mix. Cooking time isn’t too long, so something you could decide to make without too much planning (assuming you have the beef and broth on hand all the time). Really appreciate that the beans don’t need a lot of prep. The seasoning is perfect (we leave out the whole chile, or cook in the last half of cook time if we want a little more heat). Reminds me of the chili from a childhood restaurant.

Made this for dinner tonight using leftover pork tenderloin. Added avocado and sour cream to the bowl and my husband gobbled it up! Amazing taste and so simple to make!

Turned Me Into A Soup Lover

Posted by MJ on Jun 28th 2023

I have made your chili & Tortilla Soup offerings & they are fantastic! Altho I’m not a soup fan the package looked so scrumptious that I tried the Tortilla soup during a winter storm in ‘21! I can’t get enough & it’s so nutritious. Thanks for the fine selection of Mexican & American favorites! They rate 5 Olés from me.
