The Original Frontier Favorite – A Hearty Bean Soup for Big Gatherings

Our Minnesota Heartland Eleven Bean Soup is where it all began. Back in 1983, company founder Trisha Anderson brought a hand-packaged version of this colorful, hearty bean blend to a local holiday market—and sold out in no time. That simple, homemade recipe, inspired by her mother’s way of turning pantry staples into soul-warming meals, became the first ever Frontier Soups product.

This dry soup mix is a beautiful medley of eleven beans, peas, and lentils, full of flavor, texture, and old-fashioned goodness. Simmer it slow and low with kielbasa sausage and chicken for a rich, satisfying meal that serves a crowd. Perfect for Sunday suppers, winter nights, or any time you’re craving true homemade comfort.

This is more than just a bean soup—it’s our history in a bowl. Gather your family, stir the pot, and taste the tradition that started it all.

    Best soup ever

I combined the stock from the turkey carcass with the ham hock for the broth. Made the soup for instructions, but using ham only for the protein. Probably would be great with chicken and Kabasa, but I can try that another time. It was outstanding.

Found the packet on the shelves of Major Market in Fallbrook, CA. We are vegan, so I prepared the soup without the meats. Great soup, flavorful and fat free. Suggest adding marketing text about the terrific flavor without meat!

    Hearty and healthy!

I’ve had this soup twice, and I think it will always be my favorite. I love how the flavor of the broth comes from the ham hocks, and you can make the soup as meaty as you want. This little bag makes a LOT of soup, perfect to make as meal prep for the week, or make for one dinner and freeze. You must try it!
