  • 1 Tbsp. oil
  • 1 ½ lbs ground chuck*
  • 1 ½ cups beef broth (12 oz.)
  • 1 can (14.5 oz.) peitite diced tomatoes
  • 2 Tbsp. red wine vinegar
  • 2 tsp. sugar
  • (optional: ½ tsp. each of salt and freshly ground black pepper)

*May reduce ground chuck to 1 lb., if preferred

  1. In a 3 or 4-quart pot, heat oil.
  2. Add ground chuck and brown thoroughly over medium to medium-high heat.
  3. Stir in chili mix. Add in broth, tomatoes, red wine vinegar, and sugar.
  4. Bring to a boil and then reduce to a simmer, cover, and cook for 30 minutes.
  5. Remove the whole chile pepper.
  6. Serve with garnish of sour cream, shredded cheese, or sliced avocado with cornbread on the side.

    This chili is the best! So easy to make and tastes fantastic, not too spicey, just the right amount of zip to it. I suggest making two batches because when I made this for the first time, I did not have any leftovers. It was gone!

    I happened to grab a pack of your Creekside Chili mix when I was traveling thru Kansas. I couldn't believe how clean your ingredients were and I was intrigued at the idea of chili from a bag. I am happy to say it is probably the best chili I've ever had the pleasure of tasting! Your seasoning blend is perfection! I had to find the website to see where I can get more. We just finished ordering the Bakers dozen and 4 of those were the Chili packs. Thank you for a great quality product that I can enjoy and know its good for us!

    I wanted to tell you how great your chili is. I am not a chili fan and only make it for my husband. I generally just get a brick of chili and add some jalapenos as my husband likes it spicy. My sister told me about your chili mix and insisted I buy some - she said it is the best chili she has ever eaten. She suggested that I make it with 1 lb of HB meat and 1/2 lb of spicy sausage. So I did and darn if she wasn't right. I made some for hubby and when I tasted it I could not stop eating it. I have been making Frito chili pies, chili dogs, chili cheeseburgers and smothered burritos.

    I always make my own soups and chili from scratch but thought to buy a chili mix so I don’t have containers of spices sitting around and going to waste. Well this Montana Creekside Classic Chili mix is near perfect. It has the right amount of spices and not overpowering. The amount of onions, beans, etc. is also perfect and I love the fact that I had to add my own salt. I served the chili with jasmine rice and it was perfect. I will be buying more mixes from Anderson House.
